National
Association of Area Agencies on Aging (N4A)
The
National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (NAAAA) is a private,
non-profit organization representing the interests of Area Agencies
on Aging across the country. Incorporated in 1975, NAAAA provides
advocacy, information, and training related to Area Agencies on
Aging and programs for older adults. NAAAA also provides technical
assistance and consulting services to employers and organizations
in the development and implementation of elder care information
and referral services and establishing linkages to case managed
community-based systems of long term care.
The
Association's priority issues include:
- improving
the visibility of the nation's aging network with an emphasis
on accessibility to the network's information and referral services
- advocating
for adequate resources for supportive services for those older
adults in need
- brokering
of community-based long term care services and access to such
services through information and referral and case management
- developing
linkages with the private sector to enhance its responsiveness
to older adults and support for their caregivers

providing information to older adults and their caregivers that
assist their efforts at responsible advocacy and empowerment to
choose and create community-based services that are adequate,
acceptable, and affordable

developing improved planning and management practices for Area
Agencies on Aging and their service
