North
Carolina Association on Aging (NCAoA)
The
North Carolina Association on Aging (NCAoA) was established in the
early 1980's with a three-fold purpose:
- to
represent local service providers and other professionals in the
field of aging in North Carolina, to provide leadership and educational
opportunities, and to promote high standards of professional qualifications;
- to
encourage the development of services designed to enhance the
quality of life for older adults, to assist all levels of the
aging network in areas of planning, programming, and policy development;
and
- to
advocate for those matters which will advance the field of aging,
to review, encourage, and support legislation that positively
affects the field of aging
Members
of this non-profit association include health and social professionals
and organizations that are typically considered to be part of the
Aging Network. These include local councils and departments on aging,
senior centers, area agencies on aging, adult day care centers,
adult social services and health departments, and other providers
of home and community-based services.
