Administration

The Administration area of Triangle J Area Agency on Aging has oversight of all TJAAA functions. There are also major areas of focus such as:

Planning for County-Based Aging Program
Assisting local organizations, older adults, and elected officials to come together to identify the issues affecting older adults and their caregivers; then, to strategize action steps to be taken to address each issue.

Grant Agreements With Counties
Enabling the use of federal and state funds to purchase from local agencies such services as: Congregate Meals, Home-delivered Meals, In-Home Aide Service, Respite Care, Adult Day Care, Housing and Home Improvement, Care Management, Senior Center Operation, Legal Assistance, Information and Assistance, Transportation, Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.

Included in this category are quality assurance and performance reviews and reporting responsibilities to local aging service providers and counties.

Technical Assistance
Data collection/analysis, grant writing, training, education, interpreting and explaining regulatory policies and procedures, problem resolution, responding to local aging service provider and county inquiries.

Advocacy
Efforts at the local, state and federal levels to improve the quality of life for older adults and their caregivers and similar efforts on behalf of local aging service providers; public education; outreach; facilitation of cooperative relationships and partnerships; support of the North Carolina Senior Tar Heel Legislature.

All efforts have the common goal of helping older adults live in their community in the least restrictive environment with maximum dignity and independence.
