As we have seen in past disaster situations, local aging services providers are often on the "front line" before, during, and after a disaster event. Some counties have been proactive and have formed coalitions with local Emergency Management, hospitals, and others and have developed protocols and roles for various agencies to play. This is the ideal approach.
Some counties now have automated notification systems for seniors. Others have offered their senior centers as shelters. There are many ways to prepare.
In this section, you will find links to information that may help you as you plan or as you prepare for an impending disaster. We suggest that you go to the "Overview" link first.
