State Emergency Hotline 1-888-835-9966 7a.m. to 9p.m., 7 days a week during hurricane/flood recovery This hotline provides information about shelters, road conditions, emergency assistance and food kitchens.

CARE-LINE 1-800-662-7030 8a.m. to 5p.m., Monday - Friday In the Raleigh area, call 855-4400. Deaf or hard of hearing callers can dial 1-877-452-2514 (TTY). Call this number for information about emergency services available in your area, such as medical assistance, food, clothing, temporary housing, shelters, etc.

FEMA 1-888-462-9029 1-888-462-7585 (TTY) 7a.m. to midnight, weekdays Call this number to register for financial assistance for individuals, families and businesses affected by the hurricane. Aid is available for individuals and businesses in counties that have been declared "disaster areas" and those whose insurance will not cover damages caused by the hurricane. An application must be completed to receive assistance.

TTY Phone Service 1-888-988-7746 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week Deaf or hard of hearing citizens in areas affected by the hurricane can access state emergency services through this toll-free TTY number.

National Hotline for Reporting Lost Pets 1-888-PETS-911 Use this number to report a pet either lost or found. Having all the lost and found information in one place offers a better chance for connecting pets and owners.

Additionally, local television stations have - in the past - partnered with local radio stations to offer complete coverage of the disaster event and recovery efforts and resources. Below are past partnerships that may still be in place at the time of a disaster.

Please remember that these numbers may change from disaster to disaster. Local media will have the most recent numbers (though most agencies try to keep the same numbers). Also remember that phone service may be limited and relief workers will be working diligently to assist everyone that needs assistance. Those with the most dire needs will be given priority. Please be patient and treat those trying to help with respect.
