Some
Region J counties have implemented the “CodeRED”
high-speed telephone emergency notification service. The CodeRED system gives county officials
the ability to deliver pre-recorded emergency telephone notification
and/or information messages to targeted areas or to the entire county.
The system is capable of delivering the message to either a live person
or an answering machine, making three attempts to connect to the registered
number. You sign up for the service and the system will notify you
if the area in which you live may be in the path of an impending storm
or other disaster emergency or "need to know" information.
Types of potential disasters for which you may be notified:
This is not a complete list and would change with circumstances. However, it gives you an idea of the type information that will be sent to you should the county need to alert you. It will be used for emergency situations only.

WRAL
WeatherCall uses your street address to determine whether your home
or business is inside a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning area. If
it is, Greg Fishel will call you with information and recommendations.

Remember, by the time you receive a call, it is probably too late to plan. Get Ready! Plan ahead. Then, when you get a call, you will know what to do and how to do it.
