Disaster Planning for Older Adults and Their Families

 

 

In order to understand about disaster planning, it is important to understand what a disaster is. For our purposes, a disaster is any event that has the potential to displace and/or harm citizens. A disaster may occur due to natural causes or it may be caused by an accident or act of terrorism.

In this section, we want to give you information to help you and your family prepare for a disaster situation so that you will have the best chance to stay safe. If you are a family caregiver, there are some special considerations that you need to be aware of to ensure the safety and well-being of your family.
