Meals on Wheels of Durham provides home delivered meals to vulnerable home-bound older adults in Durham County.

The North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services defines the program as "The provision of a home delivered meal that provides 1/3 of the Recommended Daily Dietary Allowance to a home-bound older adult." A system of volunteers delivers the meals, checks on the recipients, and provides limited needed social interaction. The meals are provided on a voluntary contribution basis for eligible participants.
