Mission

The mission of the Triangle J Area Agency on Aging is to promote the highest level of well being of older adults in the seven-county region by partnering with organizations to assess needs and provide a comprehensive system of opportunities, services and protective supports.

Vision

As the result of the work of the Triangle J Area Agency on Aging and its partners, in response to the increasing challenges and opportunities presented by our rapidly growing older population, older adults in our livable and senior-friendly region will have:

• A strategically planned, responsive, quality, comprehensive, coordinated, easily identifiable, accessible and affordable system of programs and services that promotes dignity, self-sufficiency and opportunity.
• Options, rights and protections for their social, health, emotional and economic well-being.
• Access to timely, comprehensive and responsive information.
• Meaningful and empowering ways to be involved in civic activities.
• The assurance that caregivers are recognized and effectively and strongly supported.
• Access to preventive programs of services and events combating isolation, encouraging early diagnosis of physical and emotional problems and promoting support groups as appropriate.
• The assurance that younger generations will enjoy meaningful lives in their later years.
• An effective advocacy network.

It takes a community to support successful aging.
